Race 6 No3 – Lord Ardmore

Jumped sharply to 1800m 2nd-up, set a strong speed and just kept running then too strong again latest when staying 1800m here. To 2000m only a positive. Handles any track.

Resumes. Solid 2.6L 4th to Argentia in fast time fresh last prep then battled on bottomless track in Surround. On heels of quality fillies sin PJ Bell. Clear third in trial under hold. Looks the value here $8 in BM78.

Ran Star Sparks to 0.6L Wyong latest and they ran time, winner then won (well) again midweek. Like her Sur La Mer form too for this and after claim will have 3kg on fave Bazooka. The value $9 for mine. 

2 – COMONIC – Big trial win before wide/ worked Hawkesbury fresh on strong (+6L) tempo and he held on well. Now draws in and claims to 58kg. Looks ‘’Highway overs’’ $11 early. 

5 – BANDI’S BOY – Resumes. Trialled well with Shelby Sixtysix! Still raw start two but won with gaps behind. Early season 3yo with weight, drawn wide but looks good talent. 

4 – PARTICIPATOR – Resumes. Broke away and demolished C1 rivals Wagga then spelled. Close-up/ Good in one of these in Feb and race was won in good time (strong form reference). Has real scope. Go well. 

1 – JALMARI – Resumes. Gave him a hope to beat Straight Arron one day which is some form-line for a Highway… Will have to cart this massive impost is all.

7 – OPTIMO – Going well but will need luck from inside back at 1100m here…. Chance still. 

11 – SALIRE – In the game also with luck from gate… 

2 – STRAWBERRY ROCK – Nice work very late Caulfield with 60kg then sat closer to staying trip latest and split Ferago (won/ ran quality time) and Mimi’s Award (had been flying) with gaps behind. Drier will not hurt. 

3 – IMPULSAR – Looked in desperate need of blinkers Caulfield when didn’t quicken at all yet still crossed line with Strawberry Rock, they (blinkers) went on Pakenham and hey presto, he sat closer, won well, with weight. On the up!

4 – SO UNITED – Made handy Cadre Du Noir work to beat him here latest when out to 2400m, they beat third easy. All wins on dry so drier track no stress at all for him also. 

6 – MONFELICITY – Had good backing back on better ground last week but she was badly held-up and may well have won it. Has run well (twice) at 2300m. In the game. 

1 – Herman Hesse – A hope if here not MV.

8 – KITZBUHEL – Not out of it on similar form…race may fall away!

2 – BUBA – Ran Star Sparks to .6L Wyong latest and they ran time, winner then won (well) again midweek. Like her Sur La Mer form too for this and after claim will have 3kg on fave Bazooka. The value $9 for mine. 

1 – BAZOOKA – He was dominant in this class last time with J-Mac (who sticks) and clearly has best overall time ratings here. Back to 1600m and now has 59kg but hard to beat. 

8 – ADIOS STEVE – Spent early juice (+8L VS ave early speed) and was attacked mid race here latest, no shock he faded late. Back to 1600m now with 3kg on Bazooka … he can win !

7 – BELLA VIOLET – Lovely return from her charging late in 12.84 (race-fastest) Kembla and fitter/ 1600m with Bowman replacing Amy McLucas. 

11 – COPPERSONIC – Liked the fight from her fresh. Was wide/ good 2nd-up last prep. Just has to run strong 1600m is all.

4 – OPACITY – Gave him a hope at odds last week if track was fair, well, it was not but it did not stop him running home hard (11.85 – race-fastest last 200m) against bias. Quinella sat 1-2. Now gets to his best winning trip and back to Randwick. Overs $8 ??

6 – NARRATED – Was not far away in G3 Doomben then tracked strong (+6.5L) tempo Rosehill with 60kg and looked home but was nailed late, that form was franked last week. Drier and back to 1600m no issues. Goes forward to offset gate. 

2 – EQUATION – Returned gelded here and battled strongly all way but fancy just peaked late? Ran well in Silver Eagle 2nd-up last prep. Quickly to 1600m so maybe one more run tops him off??? Goes in !

5 – NIFFLER – Had task from 12l off lead latest in slowly run race and she was 6-weeks between runs. Fitter, to 1600m and her Comme Bella Fille form is strong for this. Draws in!

8 – CASINO KID – Did a great job to win here 2nd-up given he was 1100m-to-1600m .. He beat Niffler 1.3L when they clashed in Jan. Meets 4kg worse but, must have case also. 

2 – KING OF SPARTA – Great ride/win in Bletchingly at WFA then close-up in Aurie’s Star when looked keen up straight for the first time (he is often keen in fairness). Gets onto drier and like him drawn away from inside this time!

6 – SHOWMANSHIP – Ran very well in Wangoom off that long break, that was first career defeat fresh, fresh again, Nice late in recent jumpout. Won 7 of 9. A ripper. A danger !

3 – EMBRACER – Was trial star before forgive run fresh when galloped on. Beaten on wire in this race last year by G1 winner Private Eye. Drier only a positive. Expect better! 

1 – SPECIAL REWARD – Nice work from way back in Missile Stks fresh and he has won three times 2nd-up. Good scalp of Snapdancer here in Razor Sharp in December. Sits closer this time. 

9 – PRIME CANDIDATE – Went way too hard in that Missile Stks. Track too wet prior. His last dry track run he beat home King Of Sparta in Healy Stks in Qld. 

3 – LORD ARDMORE – Jumped sharply to 1800m 2nd-up, set a strong speed and just kept running then too strong again latest when staying 1800m here. To 2000m only a positive. Handles any track.

7 – TOOMUCHTOBEAR – Made up a stack of ground fresh at 1400m then only up 100m in Winter Challenge and split Cross Talk and Gold Trip. He jumped to 2000m 3rd-up last prep, and won here.

9 – GROVE FERRY – Was gallant her latest making Lord Ardmore dig-in to beat him… Was only 3rd-up himself. His one go 2000m was very good 3rd in ATC Cup when worked mid race. 

8 – FRANCESO GUARDI – Has not been far off Lord Ardmore his last two and was forced back nearer (slower) inside lanes latest… Has little relative weights swing too. 

1 – LE DON DE VIE – Class above them Caloundra Cup. Class stayer but back to 2000m and 7-weeks off are queries with the 60kg. 

10 – ZAPATEO – Resumes. Led/ Left rail and beat key rival Jamaea untouched recent trial. Under 1L off Mazu fresh last prep (beat rest easy) then close-up 4th to same gun (male) sprinter. That 4th was her worst career finish! Looks to have come on too. 

3 – FITUESE – Resumes. Good mare/ Good trial under hold. Has phenomenal record on dry ground. Won four times fresh, one of those was in this race last year, at $12 !! Looks overs again at similar price. 

5 – JAMAEA – Resumes. Sat midfield was ridden but ran Zapateo to .5L in trial. Nice work. No luck fresh last prep in MM Guineas then was in the finish with two top-shelf fillies Fangirl and Espiona in a LightFingers. 

1 – BELLA NIPOTINA – Quality mare/ Great jumpout but may be staying in Melb? Chance if here. 

13 – SMIRNOVA – Resumes. No luck fresh last prep then 3.6L off Mazu (ties in). Spelled after Pj Bell miss. Beat Military Expert (won) and Sky Command (is here) in trial. 

2 – BELLUCI BABE – Was big tip around fresh but race just didn’t pan out…. Has been right with Bella Nipotina… Expecting better!

10 – FANGIRL – Resumes. Can win big G1 this prep. Trialling brilliantly. Huge last 600m to run over Espiona fresh last prep. Has won 5 of 6 on Good-to-just Soft tracks. Can measure up!

3 – ANAMOE – Resumes. Star colt who was terrific closing 1L third in Expressway fresh last prep at 1200m. Little doubt 1400m is much more suitable fresh. From gate 1 he does not need to far off them at all here. Always trials super. 

1 – MO’UNGA – Resumes. Ignore this trials, he always looks like a BM58 horse at those. Raceday though, he is a gun! Home hard for second in G1 Futurity Stks fresh last prep. When fresh prior, he won this race, running down Verry Elleegant and a stack of G1 horses. He can win. 

4 – PROFONDO – Resumes. Has looked coiled-up and ready to explode at the trials. Happy to forget last prep happened. His Spring Champion Stks win was that of a proper horse. Keen to see him.

8 – FORBIDDEN LOVE – Has task fresh wide near strong speed in run-ons race. Won Guy Walter 2nd-up last prep. Loves wet buy hardly inept dry. 

7 – IN SECRET – Resumes. Two very good wins in first prep running strong figures, spelled. Off-pace/ wide in trial and battled well under no riding. Draws nicely and key rivals do not so leaning her way. 

5 – WILLINGA BEAST – Resumes. Off-pace in trial, hooked out and was ridden to run over them. Looked good at debut then best run in race in Percy Sykes. Has only seen very wet tracks to date. 

1 – REVOLUTIONARY MISS – Resumes. Two trials, both rock solid. Home hard to Mumbai Jewel. All form is great if you delete Slipperier miss (her one go Heavy) 

10 – MUMBAI JEWEL – Resumes. Wide/ Joined in quick and beat Revolutionary Miss in trial. Good work. Looks bigger/ stronger filly to my eye now as 2yo. Wary her.

6 – RUSSIAN CONQUEST – Resumes. Home hard in trial. Draws way out but fence may well be off by now.. Only defeat on better then heavy tracks was when she gave Coolangatta a scare in Gold Coast MM. 

15 – MIYOSHI – Beat Aft Cabin WFM and they ran away from third… Runner-up went to Sandown and won by 6L in fast time beating one with form around recent Flem winner Berkeley Square. Huge odds here. 

9 – LARKSPUR RUN – Resumes. Solid 2.6L 4th to Argentia in fast time fresh last prep then battled on bottomless track in Surround. On heels of quality fillies sin PJ Bell. Clear third in trial under hold. Looks the value here $8 in BM78.

5 – ZARASTRO – Resumes. Under big hold in his trial. Now gelded. No doubting his talent. Was lame when beaten fresh last prep. Had Paulele form as 2yo. Danger!

6 – JAL LEI – Mile back here latest then made up stack of ground. Was 5-weeks off there. Ran OK in LightFingers here in Feb. Surely settles closer this time?

13 – ARBITRATION – Went back WFM fresh and ran over BM64 rivals with 59kg. Still raw but won Metro maiden 2nd-up last prep. Boasts a second to Fangirl too…

3 – PIZARRO – No star but genuine and back to 1200m, back on drier don’t seem any negatives. Must have claims. 

10 – DARALINA BELLE – Had no hope Vs walking tempo latest.. Big finish/ win prior.
