A Penryn man who was caught with a cut throat razor on him in Falmouth twice in the space of six weeks went on to headbutt and spit at police arresting him.
Despite this, Brandon Kyle Bull has escaped an immediate prison sentence, but has been warned he faces a lengthy jail term should any other offences be committed in the next two years.
The 23-year-old was before magistrates in Truro on August 25, where he pleaded guilty to a series of crimes.
The majority date back to July 7, when Bull, of Glasney Place, Penryn was in Falmouth.
Here he was found to be drunk and disorderly in Church Street. When arrested by police, they also found a cut throat razor on him in a public place.
Matters deteriorated further when Bull arrived at Camborne Police Station.
He admitted going on to assault Police Sergeant Michael Friday and Police Sergeant Chris Vincent, by spitting and headbutting them.
Bull was discovered to also have a quantity of the class A drug cocaine on him.
For the crime of possession of a bladed article, in the form of the cut throat razor, Bull was sentenced to 26 weeks in prison, suspended for two years.
He received a further 12 weeks in prison for the assault on PS Friday, to run consecutively to the first sentence but also suspended for two years. He must pay the police officer £200 in compensation.
For the assault on PS Vincent he was again ordered to pay £200 compensation and was given ten weeks in prison, in addition to a further two weeks for possession of cocaine, both to run concurrently (alongside) to the other jail terms and also suspended for two years.
No separate penalty was given for being drunk and disorderly.
Magistrates ordered that the cut throat razor be removed from Bull and that the cocaine be forfeited and destroyed.
However, they said his guilty plea had been taken into account when sentencing him.
On the same day Bull was also sentenced for a further incident of having a folding cut throat razor on him, this time in Grenville Road, Falmouth, just over five weeks earlier on June 29.
Magistrates committed him to prison for 12 weeks, suspended for two years.
The overall length of his suspended sentence is 50 weeks.
