Crosspoint Barber Shop recently celebrated its grand opening in Minerva.

The shop, owned by Dan Moore, is at 119 S. Market St.

It offers fades, true bald fades, and staff can work with African hair and long hair. Moore and his business partner, Trevor Lowery, use warm foam and a straight razor, with a warm-towel finish on face shaves.

Pastor Randy Gobley opened the event with a blessing for the new business, quoting Proverbs 16:3, “Commit your work to the Lord and your plans will be established.”

“There’s an establishment taking place here today,” Gobley said. “This wasn’t Dan’s original plan, but I trust this is where the Lord is placing him and he has an opportunity here to not only be a business owner in Minerva, but he’ll have an opportunity to speak to people, and I hope he’ll take the opportunity to share the love of Jesus with anyone who comes through the door.”

Village and Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce officials were on hand for the ribbon cutting.

“It’s always a great time to see people start a business and take that step of faith,” said Minerva Mayor Tim Tarbet. “We have a lot of hairdressers in town, but you’re the only barber, and we are so excited that you’ve decided to land here, trust in us here. We are here to support you, whatever we can do for you. We welcome you and wish you the best of success.”

Crosspoint Barber Shop is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and Wednesday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday and Saturday. The shop has reserved 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. for senior citizens. Appointments can be made at 234-575-1863, and walk-ins are welcome.
