The hazardous waste and e-waste recycling roundup for Santa Clarita is scheduled for Saturday, July 23, at the Via Princessa Metrolink Station parking lot, located at 19201 Via Princessa in Canyon Country, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Acceptable types of hazardous waste for this particular event include chemicals, paints, solvents, electronic devices and sharps, such as medical syringes or razor blades.
Attendees are asked to bring items in a sturdy box, preferably in the original box if available, and to empty their trunks of all non-waste items.
During collection, attendees are asked to not exit their car, as workers will be on-hand to empty the trunks, according to officials.
The collection is not accepting explosives, ammunition, radioactive material, trash, tires, controlled substances or large appliances such as stoves, refrigerators and washing machines.
Additionally, the amount of hazardous waste per trip is limited to 15 gallons or 125 pounds, and business waste will not be accepted, according to officials.
The event is presented by Los Angeles County and operated by its Department of Public Works and Sanitation Districts.
For more information visit the L.A. County Public Works website or call 800-238-0173.
